Cars 2 hints at iOS 5 Speech Technology

I just saw Cars 2, and yeah, um, it’s not my favorite Pixar movie, sorry Mr. Lasseter! That being said, the art direction was terrific! I enjoyed the design of not only the terrain, but also the artictecture elements carried automotive styling. Very nice.

Anyway, back to this post… Throughout the movie of Cars 2, I kept hearing “everything has voice activation nowadays” or something to that affect. And it reminded me of the rumors that Apple bought a speech recognition technology company, Siri. And then, of course, the many other rumors of iOS5 Speech Recognition found all over the web, here, here, and here.

So, not that it needs to be said, but it’s pretty clear that Apple is going to come out with something automated and speech-based. Great! I certainly want to be able to access my Maps App while driving without having to, um, pull over and enter in the address.

Are you looking forward to iOS5?
