For any industry or sector, your business caters to, coming up with the right brand name requires more than an idea.

Here are 4 steps to follow for brand naming success, so you don’t waste your time, money, or your sanity.

Research Industry Keywords

Start by researching keywords that align with your industry and goals. The words in your brand name will help with search engines and the relationship between your brand name and the products and services you provide. This also can include taglines and your brand’s glossary.

Research Domain Names

Next, available research domains that match the keywords you uncovered. A “domain name” is your website address. Owning this domain name will solidify and validate your brand name so that no other organization or competitor can use it.

Social Media Accounts

Now use that list to research all available social media accounts. You will want to ensure that the social media account @name matches your domain name. Following your brand is more accessible if all of these are identical.

Aquire and Unite!

Lock in your names so that you have secured the brand name. Once your words are available and clear to use, lock them in with all domain combinations and social media account combinations. This can include acme-things.com and acmethings.com
